Contemplate the Void with the Ancient Seers in the new Ruptured World Album

A little over one year has passed since our last excursions into the lush, spacey transmissions of Ruptured World, that previous adventure being the album Xenoplanetary; now, composer Alistair Rennie returns with another entry in his “Rituals” series. Void Rituals is the newest release, a captivating blend of space ambient occasionally punctuated with eerie and enigmatic field recordings - often garbled radio transmissions. The album is released with the following quote, “The void of the stars is not an empty one. It is a thriving vessel of cosmic bodies and the unaccountable vastness of the ultra-deep field”, and thus we find ourselves adrift in the infinite void, and Ruptured World’s new rituals to help guide our languorous trip.

Void Rituals presents a tale from the perspective of a cosmic body of observers - called Seers - and this album gives an aural interpretation, “delving into the visions of ancient Seers and unknown futures” as quoted from the album’s prologue. Each track of the album weaves a tapestry of soundscapes, evoking both unsettling and calming emotions, sometimes, though, even hinting at eldritch presences, providing a touch of the uncertain - a tremulous dread that is unavoidable when contemplating the vast emptiness of outer space, and these emotions are deftly crafted by Ruptured World, providing a seamless continuance from the previous album; in a sense, each Rituals album is expanding outward, growing to a macrocosmic audio experience.

Void Rituals invites listeners to explore cosmic mysteries through ambient soundscapes, while weaving its own infinitely opaque narratives, piquing the imagination, and drawing the listener in with droning resonance and grand synthesizer pads. If you appreciate dark ambient music that transports you beyond our earthly confines, this new album is a must-listen. You can find it in CD digipak and digital formats on the Cryo Chamber bandcamp page.
