Explore the Parallel Dimensions with Dead Melodies

Dead Melodies returns to Cryo Chamber with a new offering of intriguing, cinematic ambient, The Aberration of Time and Space. On the heels of the brilliant noir of Murken Hollow, Tom Moore brings another unique sci-fi tale, utilizing his sound design penchant of ethereal droning pads, with languorous ebbs and flows of rhythm, all while maintaining a tenebrous mood, and offering yet another original sci fi tale, intriguing and most assuredly for fans of David Fincher and David Lynch.

The Aberration of Time and Space is a story of the fractalization of multiple parallel dimensions, drawing on the story ideas of such shows as the 90s tv cult classic Sliders and even some movies (the first that come to mind are the 80s horror films, Shadowzone and From Beyond). Included with the album is a booklet revealing the narrative, the tale of a physicist who experiments with opening a portal to a parallel world, and as we marvel at the implications and success, we slowly realize the growing feedback loop of imminent destruction that is drawing near; it creates a sense of wonder, curiosity, and dread, as the listener explores the possibilities and consequences of tampering with the fabric of space and time. The music is the brilliance of Dead Melodies come to the fore, with reserved pads, delicate plucks in cadenced patterns, all slowly evolved to be a blanketing soundscape for the listener to enjoy the soundtrack while their imagination explores the storyline of the album.

The Aberration of Time and Space once again shows the captivating cinematic acumen of Dead Melodies, a perfect example of how ambient music can tell a compelling story without words, using only sound and imagination, and Tom Moore is one of the absolute best examples of such a musical style. The album is available in CD digipak and digital format on the Cryo Chamber bandcamp page.
